Ringing In the New Year at the Tour de Ski
Jesse Diggins powers ahead with the pack in close pursuit
The first Lumi trip of the 2026 winter season – the Tour de Ski trip – kicked off in Cavalese, Italy today. The trip begins as the excitement of this year's Tour de Ski event reaches a fever pitch, with spectacular finishes by American athletes Jesse Diggins and Gus Schumacher in their respective 5km heat mass start free events on Wednesday. Along with Julia Kern's strong showing, we're excited to see how Team USA fares in the days ahead! Lumi guests will be cheering trailside for Saturday’s Val di Fiemme sprints and the final Alpe del Cermis hill climb on Sunday.

I had the opportunity this past Sunday to visit Toblach to watch the Tour de Ski's sprint races. We couldn't have asked for a better day! It was a highlight of my holiday and I'm happy to share some photos from the trip here.

Lumi trip leaders are looking forward to welcoming guests to Europe this winter! Trip leaders have been preparing by completing trip inspections in Lahti, Finland where they were treated to early season skiing at the Lahti Sports Center, and for Lumi's Seefeld & Seiser Alm Sight-Skiing trip which starts in two weeks.
