Find Your Perfect LUMI 2026 Winter Trip

Take part in the final Worldloppet event of the season, the Fossavatnsgangan ski marathon in Iceland

Autumn is right around the corner, bringing with it cooler temperatures across the northern hemisphere and thoughts of crisp leaves, hearty meals and warm beverages. It’s also a reminder that winter is fast approaching! Soon we’ll be scraping our skis and preparing for the first snow of the season. We are excited for the Lumi Experiences trips to begin in a little over three months.

If you’re dreaming about traveling on a 2026 Lumi trip, there is still space available on several upcoming trips. We’d love for you to discover the stunning scenery in Seiser Alm or participate in your first (or 10th!) Worldloppet race with Lumi’s experienced trip leaders. Which trips still have space?

Salute! To a day spent enjoying the fresh snowfall at the Tour De Ski

Last Call! Tour de Ski and Seefeld & Seiser Alm

Bookings for our popular Tour de Ski (Jan. 2-10, 2026) and Seefeld & Seiser Alm (Jan. 18-25) trips close October 1st. If one of these trips is on your radar, now is the time to reach out and reserve your spot.

Lumi’s Tour de Ski trip showcases the final two events in this namesake race series. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anywhere closer to the action, particularly for the challenging Alpe de Cermis hill climb. Last winter, guests were so close to Jessie Diggins on the final climb that they could see the glitter on her face as she cracked a smile in response to their cheers. You’ll also get a sneak peek at the Val di Fiemme stadium, which hosts the upcoming 2026 Olympics cross-country ski events (see below). In addition to taking in the fast-paced race scene, this unique trip offers the opportunity for leisurely skiing on 80+ km of trails in Seiser Alm. The trip includes a stop in Innsbruck, Austria, host of the 1964 and 1976 Olympic Games, known fondly as the “Capital of the Alps.”

If you prefer a trip without an event to spectate, Seefeld & Seiser Alm trip spends a week exploring seemingly endless trails in both Austria and Italy. With over 200 km of trails in Seefeld and nearby Leutasch, there are trails for both beginners and advanced skiers alike. The après ski culture throughout this trip is hard to beat. Apple strudel, live music at the end of your ski and lift-serve sledding?

February Fun in France, Finland and Estonia

With several rooms still available, Lumi’s France - Transju trip (Feb. 2-9) is the perfect opportunity for your family or friends to travel as a group and explore some of the best trails in the Western Alps. There are well over 200 km spanning the border between France and Switzerland, offering the chance to experience each culture’s delicious treats and libations. We’ll let you decide which freshly-made cheese reigns supreme in this region: French Comté or Swiss Gruyère? Save room for one last adventure because at the end of your trip you have an opportunity to participate in the Transjurassienne Worldloppet ski marathon!

Looking to fill out your Worldloppet Passport? Travel to the Baltic region in your quest to collect two coveted Worldloppet stamps on the Finlandia & Tartu trip (Feb. 6-16). Begin the trip in Lahti, home of 180+ km of immaculately groomed trails and the Finlandia Hiihto ski marathon, which begins within walking distance of your hotel. Experience a traditional Finnish sauna, combined with a frigid dip in the lake (optional, of course, but certainly encouraged) to help recover after a long day exploring the trails and city! After a ferry ride across the Baltic Sea, find yourself in the historic city of Tartu, home of Estonia’s Olympic museum and the Worldloppet headquarters. Expect a rousing turnout for the hometown Tartu Worldloppet ski marathon, one of the easier options on the circuit, perfect for first-time Worldloppet event skiers.

Whether you race or spectate, the Birken in Norway is an experience that should not be missed!

When in Norway...

Late-Season Skiing in Slovenia, Norway, and Iceland

Lumi has several excellent late-season trips available to keep the joy of winter alive well into spring. The Slovenia Sight-Skiing Trip (Feb. 22-28) focuses on the impressive scenery, delicious cuisine and unique culture found in this quiet corner of the Alps. With no races to, this trip trades the hustle of a big event for the charm of staying in a small, Slovenian village just a short walk from the ski trails. Did we mention you can even ski across the border into Italy less than 2 km away?

Further to the north, the Norway & Birken trip (March 9-16) brings it back to where it all began in the heart of cross country ski country. With an astonishing 1200+ km of trails to explore, there is truly something for everyone here. After partaking in local delights like a sauna and swim in the Oslo fjord, followed by homemade waffles and brown chees in Lillehammer, you’ll have the chance to participate in the Norwegian Birkebeiner, better known simply as the Birken, Worldloppet ski event. Long, sunny days of skiing on the Sjusjøen plateau are a skier's dream come true!

Or perhaps you want to extend your ski season into April? Lumi’s Iceland & Fossavatn trip (April 13-20) can be reached with a direct flight, just 6 hours from Minneapolis (shorter, if you’re flying from the East Coast). Set in the striking Westfjords region, ski a landscape unlike any other on Lumi’s roster. Experience the awe of Iceland’s famous volcanic craters, thunderous waterfalls, geothermal pools and deep fjords beneath skies that are often pierced by the colorful northern lights. You’ll also have the chance to ski the Fossavatn ski marathon, the final Worldloppet event of the season. Finish your week with the famous Fossavatn cake buffet, then celebrate with your travel companions at the fresh seafood banquet.
