Wednesday - Travel to Seefeld via Innsbruck

Travel to Seefeld
Good morning! We hope you had a good rest and are ready for your upcoming adventures in Austria. Enjoy the European breakfast buffet at your hotel this morning before checking out.

Innsbruck Sightseeing

Your journey to Seefeld will take around 2 hours. Along the way, we recommend stopping in Innsbruck, the self-proclaimed “Capital of the Alps.” Here you’ll find several museums, many shops, historic architecture and an abundance of lunch options at local restaurants.

Arrive in Seefeld and Check-In at Hotel Klosterbräu
Your hotel looks forward to welcoming you. Your reservation is under Dauwalter & Schmidt. Your room will be ready for you to check in any time after 3:00 pm, though they know you’ll likely be arriving earlier and we have requested an early check-in. The afternoon and evening is yours to relax and enjoy in Seefeld.

Ski Trail Passes
You will receive your ski trail passes for the Seefeld trails when you check in. Your trail passes also work as bus tickets in Seefeld. Please remember to keep these with you any time you’re skiing or taking the buses in Seefeld. The hotel can print them for you and/or send them to you digitally via email as well.

Skis & Equipment
The hotel has a small ski hut where you can leave your skis and equipment.

Your Hotel’s Spa
If you'd like to schedule a little extra relaxation during your stay, you can typically simply book your spa treatment upon arrival at the hotel. If you'd like to book in advance, you can see the spa services on the hotel’s website.

Trail Recommendation
As you will be arriving today, you may wish to simply relax at your hotel or explore by foot. If you do wish to ski today, we recommend walking from your hotel to Rückenwind Ski Shop (~20 min) and the iconic Seekirchl Church. The ski finishes right back where you started.

Bring your skis with you and Rückenwind Ski Shop can scrape them for you. Owner Erich is expecting you. Please let him know you’re with Lumi, so he knows the ski scraping will be paid for by Lumi later. Rückenwind is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.

There is also a rub on glide wax and skin wax/cleaner in the welcome packet you receive at your hotel. You can use these throughout your trip and leave them in the wax box when you depart.

Short Option: A1 (3 - 5 km, highlighted green): A flat, warm-up ski, loop A1 takes you from the iconic Seekirchl Church at the trailhead through the ski stadium and farm fields. This loop is also floodlit and open after dark. Make this loop slightly more challenging by adding some of the C1 climbs on the World Cup course. If you start your ski after dark, this loop is also lit and open into the evening.

Medium Option: B1 (~5 - 8 km, highlighted blue): Extend the flat trail through the fields with a climb up the B1 trail. Follow the trail under the road (use caution if snow cover is low) and cruise back downhill to the stadium. This loop includes some extended climbs and descents and is a nice afternoon warmup if you make it out during daylight. Finish your ski back at the church or extend with more exploring in the stadium.

Getting to Know Seefeld
The most convenient ATM in Seefeld is at the BTV Bank (Klosterstr 397). Most grocery stores and restaurants accept credit cards, but we recommend having cash on hand, especially for trailside huts. The pedestrian street through Seefeld, starting outside Rueckenwind ski shop at the Nordic trailhead and running to the train station is a great place to start. Along the way, stop into a variety of stores and restaurants. Most stores will be open every day except for Sundays. If you have grocery wishes, the three best options in Seefeld include:

From 7:00 pm - Dinner
In the evening, dinner at your hotel is served from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Guten appetite!

As a reminder drinks and other extras at the hotel, such as massage, are on your own. You can put them on your tab and pay for them at checkout. If you decide to order a bottle of wine and don’t want to finish it, the hotel can hold the rest of it on ice for you and serve it on subsequent nights. Enjoy!

Sleep well after your travels.
