Skiing in Sjusjøen
Enjoy a full day of skiing on the Sjusjøen plateau’s seemingly endless trails and cruise down a classic-only trail to the Birken Stadium and Lillehammer.
From 7:30 AM - Breakfast opens at hotel
Good morning! Breakfast is available from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM at your hotel. After breakfast travel by bus up to the Sjusjøen plateau. We recommend having overboots or carrying shoes in a small backpack to get around when you are not skiing.
Trail Recomendation
Today’s ski starts in Sjusjøen again. Ski from Sjusjøen over the scenic Lunkefjell (fjell = mountain) to the small settlement of Nordseter before making your way back to Sjusjoen (~ 10 km).
If you'd like a shorter ski, there is also a bus that can take you directly from Lillehammer to Nordsetter, cutting off about 10 km of skiing.
Lunch Recommendation: Nordseter Cafe
The Nordseter Cafe is the only spot on today’s route where you can grab a bite. Here you can find drinks, sandwiches and Norwegian waffles, but they are best known for their cinnamon buns. The aroma of the warm buns is almost as good as the buns themselves. We highly recommend grabbing a few.
Second half of your ski
From Nordseter Cafe, ski downhill from Nordseter to the Birken Stadium and Lillehammer. This trail is a double-track classic trail, so we recommend using classic skis today. If you only have skate skis, it's also possible on this trail, as it's mostly double-poling in the tracks, or herringbone on the climbs, though there are minimal climbs on this trail.
Dinner
Tonight, raise a glass to the end of your stay in Lillehammer over an included dinner at LYNG restaurant in Lillehammer. You have a reservation for 7:00 pm at the restaurant. Lyng is right next to your hotel and serves Norwegian food prepared by a well-known Norwegian chef. Nyt maten din!
